What is meant by "Everyone Else Does It!" -describe a time where you used this statement and how it happened.
I don’t really use the statement, “everyone else does it!” because I really don’t follow along with what everyone else does. If I had to think back to a time when I did use this statement it would have to be when I was in jr. high. Around that time almost everyone thought gauges were a cool thing to wear. I like everyone else, knew who had them, and decided to get some as well. I started off small of course yet when my mom saw them, she freaked! I told her that everyone else was getting them so I did to. Long story short, I eventually ended up disliking them and began wearing regular earrings. What I think is meant by “everyone else does it” is that when one person is into doing something then a couple of other people are interested and sooner or later a bunch of people are into it. Basically its like follow the leader, one person jumps off a bridge the other follows. Personally I think its best to be yourself and stand out from the crowd, be unique.

I agree with you Jennifer, the only one thing I followed and that was my piercing. Many of us follow the crowd to look cool or someone do it to feel good about themselves. Everyone should make there own path and follow that and not others because that can lead you to trouble.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with you because i am not a person who “follows the crowd”, I hate dressing with “Diamond” branded clothing and most of the clothes that everyone wears. I only wear Levis jeans because although many people wear them they are comfortable, affordable and they have many different styles to them. I also recently got my ears pierced because i thought it was about time i did them, and my parents weren't too happy about it either.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with you on that Jennifer I'm not a follower that try to be someone else that trying be like theme and change my personality. I would just be yourself because other people may like the way you are and if you start to follow other people you may lose friends so just be your self.
ReplyDeleteI agree Jennifer I had a similar experience but I asked for permission to get a piercing, in the end I took the piercing out. I think that everyone should just be themselves instead of following the leader.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you we should not be followers be leaders. We should not follow something that is cool now, because later it might not be "cool" anymore and then you have second thoughts on why you got it or did something in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Jennifer. Being a person who follows a specific interest or something trendy becomes too mainstream once a huge group decides to do it. Not just in clothing, but in personalities, music, lifestyle, and in opinions.
